2017 Newspaper Institute Offers Most Ambitious Schedule Yet

On October 5, 2017, the leading names in newspaper design & technology will gather together once again for an educational opportunity second to none. Held on campus at the School of Journalism and Electronic Media at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The Institute of Newspaper Technology will offer classes in InDesign, Photoshop, Page Design for Print & Web, Networking, Digital Tools, Sales Training, Digital Visuals, Illustrator, Photography, Effecting Writing, PDF Troubleshooting and much more!

The Institute of Newspaper Technology was founded in 1997 when the University of Tennessee College of Communications and the newspapers of Tennessee combined efforts to gather the industry's top instructors in one location for four days of intensive training in the latest page layout and prepress technologies.

Past sessions have filled to capacity with participants from 42 states and provinces participating. Participants from newspapers of all size have their choice of dozens of classes covering all facets of newspaper layout and technology.

In addition, some of the biggest names in publishing technology have served on the Institute faculty. Names like Gary Cosimini, Joe Schorr, Lynn Grillo, Kevin Slimp, Ed Henninger, Lisa Griffin and Karl Kuntz are just a few of the leading instructors who have been with us over the years.

Names like Kevin Slimp, Ed Henninger, John Hatcher, Lisa Griffin, Tim Smith, Rob Heller, Karl Kuntz and others will be on hand to teach our students the latest skills in newspaper layout and design for print and the Web.
